The Opportunity

Reporting to the Business Relationship Manager, the Application Specialist is responsible to partner closely with the business and ensure our corporate applications are meeting the business needs and performing as expected. The Application Specialist serves as the subject matter expert and leads initiatives that improve application functionality that result in high business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • To maintain and support the business applications on a daily basis to ensure our corporate applications are meeting the business needs and performing as required;
  • To recommend process improvements based on current and future projections for application architecture;
  • To design, develop and distribute internal applications, provide evaluations for new external applications;
  • To participate in projects as assigned;
  • To engage regularly with clients to ensure understanding of specific LOB needs with respect to systems/applications;
  • To liaise between external vendors, internal stakeholders and customers to maximize the functionality of applications;
  • To support business level resources in the creation and maintenance of project business cases, including creation of costing models and supporting documents;
  • To provide Tier2 support to users for specified applications, resolve issues or escalate if necessary;
  • To support other LOB as requested;
  • To uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Revera’s Code of Conduct;
  • To complete all other tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Post secondary specialized IT diploma
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a directly related position, including requirements analysis, design, development & testing
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Participate as a strong, collaborative team player 
  • Excellent organization skills, proven analytical abilities and decision making capabilities
  • Must have the ability to work under tight deadlines and changing priorities 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
