The Application Specialist is expected to partner closely with the business to ensure our corporate applications are meeting the business needs and performing as expected.  The Application Specialist is responsible for diagnosing and resolving application issues to ensure optimal performance and usability for the various system users and providing root cause analysis with recommendations for improvements. He or she will also be accountable for operational tasks required for the ongoing functionality of the software applications. Working with various applications as well as liaising with software vendors to troubleshoot and fix programmatic issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage, maintain, and support the business applications on a daily basis to ensure our corporate applications are meeting the business needs (SLAs) and are performing as required;
  • Research, recommend, configure, and administer software configuration changes
  • To maintain documentation for all applications to the Revera IT standard, updating the Enterprise Architecture (EA) as needed;
  • To recommend process improvements based on current and future projections for application architecture;
  • Work with software vendors to have application issues fixed, both short term and long term (root cause)
  • To participate in projects as assigned as a technical Subject Matter Expert;
  • To engage regularly with the business to ensure understanding of specific Corporate & divisional needs with respect to systems/applications;
  • To liaise between external vendors, internal stakeholders and customers to maximize the functionality of applications;
  • To provide Tier 2 support to users for specified applications, resolve issues or escalate if necessary; specific applications include Yardi, PointClickCare
  • To uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Revera's Code of Conduct;
  • To complete all other tasks as assigned



  • Post-secondary specialized IT degree or diploma
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a directly related position,
  • Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
  • Experience supporting Yardi and PointClickCare platforms would be an asset
  • Experience in troubleshooting system issues
  • Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications with a track record of career growth and skill development
  • Strong skills and experience in designing, supporting, and understanding integrations between systems
  • Experience querying and working with relational databases (SQL Server)
  • Experience building and maintaining SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Participate as a strong, collaborative team player 
  • Excellent organization skills, proven analytical abilities, and decision-making capabilities
  • Must have the ability to work under tight deadlines and changing priorities 
  • Ability to balance the workload of day to day support and multiple projects
