Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, the Manager of External Financial Reporting will be responsible for the preparation of the consolidated and non-consolidated quarterly and annual external IFRS financial statements for multiple entities, the preparation of legal entity financial statements and performing analysis of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quarterly and annual reporting for multiple entities;
  • Manage the accounting for specific general ledger accounts, including preparation of monthly/quarterly reconciliations and appropriate journal entries;
  • Record equity accounted investments and allocation of earnings for multiple entities;
  • Perform the annual impairment assessment for multiple entities;
  • Effectively manage the relationship with a variety of internal and external customers;
  • Perform quarterly variance analysis and provide explanations for significant movements in account balances;
  • Perform analytical review of financial data including intercompany analysis;
  • Provide external auditors with financial information as required;
  • Assist with accounting for capital transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, and other M&A transactions as required;
  • Compile reports for quarterly Audit Committee Report;
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and special reports as required;
  • To manage a team of one;
  • Complete all other duties as assigned, and
  • Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy, relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Revera’s Code of Conduct.

 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, commerce or business administration is required;
  • CPA designation is strongly preferred;
  • Audit experience required;
  • 5+ years of related work experience;
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and solid understanding of financial statements prepared under IFRS;
  • Leadership experience managing direct reports an asset;
  • Experience with accounting and/or enterprise reporting systems required;
  • Experience with JD Edwards and Wdesk/Workiva would be an asset;
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel with intermediate levels required in other MS Office applications such as Word and Power Point;
  • Experience with understanding intercompany relationships is an asset;
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail;
  • Results oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and effectively manage time to successfully meet strict deadlines with quality results;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships across the organization;
  • Strong work ethic and sense of ownership and confidentiality;
  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet quarterly and annual reporting requirements;
  • Team player with the flexibility to support a variety of projects; and
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently research and think through issues.
  • Bilingual in French, oral and written, is considered an asset.
